Virtual Advertising Cross-promotion Concept
Capital Bank and the Durham Performing Arts Center
How do you create impactful outdoor advertising in the presence of strict signage ordinances? This concept considers the possibilities of augmented reality. Capital Bank, a community bank headquartered in Raleigh, NC, is a strong supporter of local art initiatives. This, combined with a promotion of their record-low mortgage rates, led to the idea of a smartphone app that could see into a virtual world. Suspended over downtown Raleigh, Dorothy Gale’s farmhouse spins in the air with a pair of flying monkeys for good measure. At street level, two virtual banners invite customers inside the downtown branch and announces a sponsorship of Wicked at the Durham Performing Arts Center.

This project is a personal concept and was not contracted by Capital Bank or the DPAC. Images and 3D house were acquired through Google SketchUp and Google Images. Smartphone illustration: Botto Arts
